Brick-weave drive renavation
During this job, our team has installed a parking area for a client in Spixworth. The drive that our team has installed, will last for up to years, creating a parking area for our client. The parking area has also given the property an updated look from the outside.
The first stage of this project was to remove old drive. The old drive was 8″, 200 mm thick. Once removed, we put in place a concrete base. The base was set at 4″, 100 mm thick. This was to ensure that the drive could sustain the weight of cars.
Channel drains where then installed. The channel drains where used to catch surface water, this was to prevent the drive from flooding. We then added a screeded sharp sand layer. The depth of the sand layer was 2″, 50 mm. Once laid, we made the sand layer into a flat surface; this was to assist with laying the bricks down. The bricks where laid at 2.4″, 60 mm. The design of the bricks was a heranbone style; giving the driveway a more modern look. Once laid, we used dry kiln sand to be swept into the driveway, this is to ensure that all of the possible joints are filled.
