The Royal Norfolk Show
With the delays from Covid, The Royal Norfolk Show has been absent within Norfolk since 2019. Once we received confirmation that the show will be held within 2022, we were extremely excited to commit to a stand at the great event. After a successful 2019 stand at the Norfolk Show, Simons Landscaping decided to make a bigger appearance at the next show. The Royal Norfolk Show (more simply the Norfolk Show) is an annual agricultural show, and is held by the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association. It is the largest 2 day agricultural show in England, and has been held almost every year since 1847. Shows were not held in 1866, 1911, 1934, 1957, 2020 and 2021 – Royal Norfolk Show website.
The stand – 40 Years
Our team went for a simple stand at the 2022 Royal Norfolk Show, highlighting surfacing, paving and the machinery that we have within our arsenal. We edged our stand with reclaimed railway sleepers to create a frame for our display. On the far left of the display, we installed three different paving slabs showing off a different range: Grey Amphasite porcelain, Fossil Mint Indian Sandstone and Raj Green Indian Sandstone. These were edged with a range for Chelsea Sets. The next part of the display we installed tarmac surface with red, gold and silver stones rolled in. Our team installed a mini Hot Tar and Shingle bed at the bottom of our display. The final surface our team installed was a resin display, with three different colours: Equinox, Volcanic Ash and Sun Rise. The resin display was very popular amongst the show; as the new up and coming surface of choice over the last several years.
Dotted around the rest of our display we had a range of our machinery for all to see. These included: Rollers, Tar and Shingle lorry, our paver and grab lorry. We have been a family run business for over 42 years and this has allowed us to grow our team and invest in the machinery to allow us to complete all projects from the small domestic up to the large commercial surfacing.
Another great two days at the Norfolk Show and it was lovely to have the opportunity to speak to members of the public about different landscaping options; after the several year absence. The Norfolk Show is a great place to show off our skilled work and allows the members of the public to get up close to our landscaping options.
With the great success of our fifth stand at the Norfolk Show, we will be coming back next year. See you in 2023!
