A Royal Scorcher in June.

June was a scorching month that included plenty of projects across Norfolk & Suffolk. We also rounded off the month with our annual Royal Norfolk Show stand on two of the hottest days of the year.

Mulbarton Driveway Completion

We began the month in Mulbarton, completing a 55-square-metre Stone Mastic Asphalt tarmac driveway that had been prepared during the final weeks of May. Finished with silver-grey fleck rolled into the surface, the new driveway provides a smart and durable entrance to the property.

Garden Transformation in Heartseases

We then moved on to a newly purchased property in Heartseases, where the garden had become heavily overgrown and required extensive clearance before work could begin.

Following excavation and preparation works, we installed a two-tier Rippon Indian sandstone patio complete with drainage improvements, raised access covers, and decorative gravel borders. The result is a practical and attractive outdoor space that gives the new homeowners a fresh start in their garden.

Commercial Improvements for Whittaker Carpets

One of our larger commercial projects this month was completed for Whittaker Carpets in Martham, where we transformed a damaged loading bay and parking area.

The project included drainage improvements, reconstruction of underground services, widening of the site entrance, and the installation of a new Stone Mastic Asphalt tarmac surface. The upgraded area now provides improved access, durability, and a more professional appearance for the business. In between our work the builders came in and erected the 18-inch pier with reinforced rods.

Driveway Installation in Poringland

Alongside our larger projects, we completed a domestic driveway in Poringland featuring charcoal brick edging, a new 9-inch wall with headers, cast iron manhole covers, and a 6mm Stone Mastic Asphalt finish with golden fleck. The finished driveway significantly improves the property’s kerb appeal while providing a robust and long-lasting surface.

Additional Projects Across Norwich and South Norfolk

Later in the month, we returned to Christchurch Road in Norwich to refresh a driveway that we originally installed around four years ago.

The project involved resurfacing the existing hot tar and chip driveway with a fresh layer of Earsham Gravel Golden Pea Shingle, restoring its appearance and extending its lifespan. As part of the works, we also removed a grass island and small tree from the centre of the driveway, creating additional usable parking space and a cleaner overall layout.

The completed surface has given the property a refreshed appearance while maintaining the character and practicality of the original installation.

Elsewhere in Norwich, we completed two very different projects on Colney Lane. At a local care home, we installed new closeboard fencing and gates to improve privacy and security for residents. Just a short distance away, we carried out a large-scale commercial resurfacing project at an apartment complex, installing new drainage and laying 20 tonnes of 6mm Stone Mastic Asphalt and golden fleck to create a durable and attractive finish.

One of our final domestic projects of the month took place in Saxlingham Nethergate, where we transformed an overgrown driveway and garden area into a practical and welcoming outdoor space. The project included a charcoal brickweave driveway, bespoke Rippon Indian sandstone patio, reclaimed sleeper planting beds and improved drainage. The finished design provides a seamless transition between the driveway and garden, creating an attractive area for planting and outdoor relaxation.

We finished June with a busy week in Runhall, completing resurfacing works across three neighbouring properties. Each driveway received a fresh K170 hot tar and golden shingle finish, while the largest property also benefited from a new four sized Indian sandstone patio. Using our specialist surfacing equipment, the team efficiently completed all three transformations within the space of a week.

Celebrating 10 Years at the Royal Norfolk Show

This year marked a special milestone for our team as we celebrated our tenth consecutive year exhibiting at the Royal Norfolk Show. Over the last decade, the show has become an important date in our calendar, giving us the opportunity to showcase our work, meet customers old and new, and demonstrate the quality and craftsmanship that go into every project we undertake across Norfolk.

To mark the occasion, we decided to go all out with a completely redesigned exhibition stand. After months of planning and preparation, we unveiled a fresh new layout featuring updated graphic boards, large-format project photography, and a more open design that allowed visitors to explore our services and completed projects in greater detail. Our aim was to create a stand that reflected the high standards of our work while providing an engaging experience for visitors to the show.

One of the centrepieces of the stand was a bespoke water feature. We have installed similar features for our customers over the last few years. The feature attracted plenty of attention throughout the two-day event and helped demonstrate the wide range of landscaping and outdoor living solutions we can offer. From driveways and patios to complete garden transformations, visitors were able to see examples of the quality finishes and attention to detail that have become synonymous with our work.

Alongside our landscaping displays, we were also pleased to offer wines from Sveinn’s Hamlet Vineyard & Winery. The wines proved extremely popular with visitors, providing a fantastic opportunity to showcase another successful Norfolk business and introduce more people to the excellent products being produced locally. Throughout the event, we enjoyed speaking with visitors about both our landscaping services and the vineyard, creating many valuable conversations and connections.

One of the most rewarding aspects of attending the Royal Norfolk Show each year is the opportunity to reconnect with previous customers. It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces stopping by the stand to say hello, share updates on projects we completed for them in the past, and discuss ideas for future improvements to their properties. Equally, we were delighted to meet many new customers and discuss a wide variety of upcoming projects. The show once again proved to be an excellent platform for building relationships and securing future work.

The highlight of the event came when we were awarded Reserve Best Stand at the Royal Norfolk Show. Receiving this recognition was a proud moment for everyone involved and a fitting reward for the effort that goes into preparing for the event each year. Having exhibited at the show for ten years, it was particularly satisfying to receive the award during such a significant anniversary year.

We would like to thank everyone who visited our stand, supported us throughout the event, and helped make this year’s Royal Norfolk Show such a success. As we look ahead to the future, we remain committed to delivering the high-quality landscaping and surfacing
