Transforming a property with a new hot tar dressed with shingle driveway and parking area.

Simons Landscaping has recently completed this Driveways & Surfacing project in Norfolk. The driveway featured here provides access to a parking and turning area immediately in front of two large undercover parking areas.

Because these undercover parking areas were of cart shed construction (with no doors) it was decided to run the surfacing right inside them, thereby creating a seamless integration of both outside and in.

The first stage of the process was for us to go in and dig out the old surface materials, removing all of the spoils from site to leave it clean and tidy, ready for the next stage.

We then carefully prepared a new base layer by using quality hard core materials from our own supplies, which were compacted with one of our specialist ride-on rollers.

You can see by one of the gallery images here that we also replaced an inspection cover with a new recessed one. This enabled us to apply the same surface material to the cover’s recessed area, allowing a smooth, blended finish to be achieved.

Finally we completed the process with a new surface comprising a K170 hot bitumen resin which was dressed with shingle and then lightly rolled.

I think you’ll agree that the finished result is very pleasing to the eye, but perhaps more importantly, the expertise, methodology and materials that we’ve used here will allow this beautiful new driveway and parking area to stand the test of time – and look good for years to come.
