Giving a driveway a new appearance

The driveway was in need of attention as it was an old, tired and warn out surface. We also enlarged the area of the driveway to provide additional parking space for the customer.

We started this job by digging out all of the grass and soil, this was then cleared of site. This was to extend the driveway for additional parking. Round top edgings where then installed in concrete to retain the lawn edge. A 150mm crushed hard-core base was laid and compacted. With a fine dressing of road planning to provide a finished level

On the existing driveway, we swept and cleared of all lose debris. A K140 emulsion tack coat was applied, which we then regulated the driveway with a hot tarmac dressing. This was done to give a level finish. The driveway was then overlaid at a 40mm rolled finish. This was done in a 6mm SMA tarmac, with a red resin coated flec rolled into the surface.

This job was completed within 3 site visits. The overall transformation has made a significant improvement to the property.
